37. Links and Search Engine Results Are Byproducts of Social Media
As I touched upon in Chapter 36, “Complementing Both Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Pay-Per-Click (PPC) Marketing,” social media isn’t about getting links to propel your strategy into the stratosphere of success. Links are how search engine optimization experts gain traction in the search engine results for their targeted keywords and phrases. Gaining links to improve your social media tactic or to get to the top of YouTube doesn’t work in the same manner.
