Over his 15-year career, Erik Qualman has helped grow the online marketing and e-business functions of Cadillac, AT&T, Yahoo!, EarthLink, Travelzoo, and EF Education.
Qualman is a frequently requested speaker within the Internet and marketing communities. He has been highlighted in numerous publications including BusinessWeek, AdvertisingAge, Forbes, Investor's Business Daily, eWeek, Media Life, Adweek, TechCrunch, Direct Marketing News, Marketing FM, and Direct Response Magazine. He has also been interviewed on various radio, television, and Internet outlets. Qualman has previously authored works of fiction, including the political thriller Crisis.
As of 2009, Qualman is the Global Vice President of Online Marketing for EF Education, headquartered in Lucerne, Switzerland. EF Education is the world's largest private educator. Qualman works out of EF's 850-person Cambridge, Massachusetts office.
Qualman holds a BA from Michigan State University and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin. He was first team Academic All-Big 10 for basketball at Michigan State.
Qualman is a paid columnist for Search Engine Watch and contributing writer to SES Magazine. He also maintains the social media blog socialnomics.net. In his spare time he enjoys SCUBA diving, golfing, tennis, and MSU hoops, and he has been fortunate to travel to 37 countries. He lives with his wife, Ana Maria, in Boston.
He is also founder of the charitable organization Paperback Robin Hood.
