Appendix A. Telemetry storage systems
Storage systems compete with the Presentation-stage systems for being the most important technical component of a telemetry system. If you don’t elect to use a SaaS platform for your telemetry, picking and specifying your storage system should be one of your top priorities when setting up or updating a telemetry system. In this appendix, I give you guidance on what each of these storage systems is good at and finds challenging. Although chapter 14, which covers cardinality, touched on several storage systems, there is more to consider than simply how well each handles cardinality.
