Chapter 8. Creating a More Complex Part Model

  • Model the Shade Retainer

  • Mirror Features

  • Finish the Model

So far in this book you have created a couple of simple parts and subassemblies. Now things start to get a little more interesting, because you will create a part model that will introduce you to some new commands and also give you more practice in creating sketches. The part you will be making in this chapter is the shade mount that is screwed into the top of the shaft you modeled in Chapter 6, "Creating a Subassembly." The shade mount will then be used to hold the lamp shade and the bulb receptacle.
