So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

What Are Xtras?
Xtras serve three purposes. First, they give Macromedia a way to develop pieces of Director independently, without requiring it to make a whole new version of Director. Features such as QuickTime support, Flash support, animated cursors, image filters, and vector graphics are all made possible by Xtras, not anything inside the Director program itself.
Second, Xtras are used by Macromedia to add features that not all developers may need in their finished products. Network Lingo, for instance, is not needed in a projector that does not communicate ...
