Creating Blends

A blend is a series of objects created to show a linear progression between two objects. Each step (or intermediary object) created by Illustrator in a blend is unique, with characteristics of each of the objects being blended. As the blend progresses from one of the original objects toward the other, the balance of characteristics shifts.

Blends are created along straight paths (called spines), but the paths can be edited as any other. The shapes from which the blend was created can be edited, and the blend is automatically updated.
