Working with Gradients
The Gradient and Gradient Mesh tools produce blends between colors. These subtle blends from one color to another help Illustrator produce the illusion of three dimensions and light. These tools enable you to produce top-notch illustrations. The simple addition of a gradient or two can change a piece of flat, two-dimensional artwork into an image with depth and perspective. Figure 15.1 shows the difference between a couple shapes filled with color and those same shapes filled with simple gradients.
