One of the most interesting phenomena in the past few years has been the development of the World Wide Web, usually referred to simply as the Web. Made possible by the development of the Internet over the past 20–30 years, the Web enables anyone—from large corporations to individuals—to create and publish information that is easily and readily available to anyone anywhere in the world.
