This book has been in the making for a couple of years. The journey began when we had the revelation that, despite Spring's growing popularity, few books were available that really focused on persistence. Every day, software developers overcome obstacles, extracting valuable lessons from their experiences. Since so much development centers on the topic of persisting and retrieving data, we decided to write a book that would serve to relay some of the enriching experiences and lessons we have accumulated over the years through development with Spring and the myriad persistence technologies available today.
