Introduction to Windows Memory Management

In this section, I will briefly describe how the Windows memory manager works. These concepts are key to understanding how SQLOS and SQL Server manage memory. We will talk about the key aspects of the Windows virtual and physical memory management, as well as features that enable high-end servers—such as SQL Server—fine-grain control over their memory usage.
