Each template creates its own set of pages on your site. You can choose to keep these pages or remove them. But before you get to any of that, this chapter explains the types of pages you can add to your site.

Defining Page Types

Squarespace 6 has a new, commonsense approach to pages, also called collections, which are used to contain items you add to your site. If you were a user of Squarespace 5, you may remember that you could add to your site many different types of page modules. Squarespace 6 has considerably fewer page types because you add any specialized content to blocks, a new type of module (see Chapter 10).

Because specialized content is put in blocks, Squarespace requires only a handful of page types:
