Introduction

At the beginning of most books, there is a group of pages set aside for a preface, a forward, an introduction, or all three. I remember in the early days of my studies, especially when in college, I would skip over those pages and turn to the first chapter. For me this was where the important information started—the material on which I would be tested. It wasn’t until much later that I discovered the importance of those first pages and the information they contained. Reflecting back on this practice and thinking that there may be others like me, I have once again cut directly to Chapter 1. I will not, however, spare you an introduction.
