A startup program is a platform for value exchange and mutual value creation between startups and organizational sponsors. The program’s role is to facilitate the exchange (Figure 12.1). To the organization it provides access to startups in a structured way, with terms that allow it to capture value from the partnership (ask); to startups, it provides capital, mentoring, knowledge, networks, and other content features directly from the organization or through its indirect sponsorship (offer).
