Introduction

After training, mentoring, and experience helping R&D and other projects succeed that were stalling in multiple environments, I spent 4 years embedded on an internal project team for Alcoa implementing a large software system (Oracle) at multiple plants worldwide. What follows is a summary of the socio-technical (see p. 73 and Chapter 1) components used to help the implementation succeed.
