Chapter 10. Developing for Existing Applications

Introduction

A lot of information has been covered in the past chapters. Now it’s time to take that information and use it to create a resource type (agent) that can be used in the Sun Cluster 3.x environment. In this chapter, we will work on taking an off-the-shelf application and go through what it will take to integrate it into the Sun Cluster 3 environment as a highly available data service. What is covered in this chapter is applicable for developing scalable services also, but the details of scalable services are covered in Chapter 11.
