Plastic Engineering, a small privately owned supplier located in Warwickshire, England, provides plastic injected parts to the automotive industry. A key customer, Standard Products, uses Plastic Engineering's parts to produce seat latches for a seat manufacturer. These latches eventually end up in a Ford-UK product. In 1997, Standard Products was pushing Plastic Engineering to improve their production process by creating a manufacturing cell.
