Montreal-based ALDO Group owns and operates a worldwide chain of shoe and accessories stores. Founded by Executive Chairman Aldo Bensadoun in 1972, it has grown to become an international corporation, with nearly 3,000 stores visited by an estimated 200 million customers annually in over 100 countries. It operates three major retail banners: ALDO, Call It Spring/Spring and GLOBO. Stores in Canada (Figure 1-6.1), the United States, the United Kingdom, and Ireland are owned by the Group, whereas other international stores are franchised.
