Chapter 6. Paths in SVG

The basic SVG graphic shapes to which you were introduced in Chapter 3, “Basic SVG Elements and Shapes,” are limited in the range of shapes that they can create. You can use the SVG path element, by contrast, to create almost any arbitrary two-dimensional shape, including those that can be created using the basic graphic shapes. The exceptions are circles and ellipses.
