Listen to Podcasts
They say that to become a writer, you need to read a lot. The same is true for being a podcaster. You need to listen a lot. Listen to as many podcasts as you can. Find podcasts about news, comedy, drama, politics, science, art, technology, and anything else you are interested in and given them all a good listen. Take notes if it would help. Find out what it is that you really like, and notice what doesn’t work for you. This is important: if you don’t like a certain style of podcasting or topic, then making your show in that style or on that topic, will not be enjoyable for you and your audience will know it.
