Introduction
After a bit of a feature pause with iOS 12, which largely focused on bug fixes and performance improvements, Apple is back on the feature train in iOS 13.
As in iOS 11, the iPad is a big part of this year’s focus. In fact, the iPad technically no longer runs iOS, but rather iPadOS. For now, the differences largely reflect big improvements to the multitasking system, the iPad’s Home screen, and desktop-class web browser that’s capable of using complex web apps like Google Docs and Squarespace.
But the split puts pressure on Apple’s developers to deliver goodies for the iPad every year. For now, we’re keeping iOS and iPadOS together in a single book, but we’ll reevaluate that if the two operating systems diverge further in the future. ...
