A name for the storage approach when documents are stored as a vector representation and so the words, sequences, and contexts are lost.
Boolean operators
Boolean operators are named after the mathematician and logician George Boole (1815–1864). The common Boolean operators are AND, OR, NOT. Boolean expressions consist of Boolean operators and always yield a true or false (binary) outcome and so are well-adapted to digital computing.
Boollear
Boollear is a process developed by Cox and Zhao (2014) that forms predictive rules to characterize the relation between term combinations in a set of documents and a given target or category. Because the terms form linguistic rules, the process is useful for both linguistic and numerical rule-based predicative engines.
Captured response (lift) chart
A measure of the accuracy of a predictive model. Given a target field that is either correctly predicted or incorrectly predicted, we measure the accuracy of the predictions by sorting the results from accurately predicted to not predicted.
Chi-squared statistic
The chi-squared statistic is one of the more commonly used statistics to assess whether the categorical attributes of objects in a data collection depend on one another; for example, does eye or hair color depend on the gender attribute in a collection of data?
Collections or corpus
Collections are any set of documents that are used in the text analysis.
