ONE OF THE most valuable design features in Flash is the ability to embed any font in a SWF file and have it render the same on any platform. Flash also lets you display dynamic text as an embedded font, embed and format fonts dynamically, and apply text-field listeners to trigger events based on specific user interactions.

In this chapter you will learn how to embed fonts, dynamically create and format text fields, and replace ActionScript 2 text-field callback-function properties with the new text events available in ActionScript 3.
