Chapter 7. Phone

You already know how to use a phone, but the Fire has a few options that might not be obvious. This chapter covers making and receiving phone calls, conference calling, and responding to a call with a text message (which is the civilized thing to do, if you ask me; who talks on the phone anymore?).

Making a Call

Making a call with the Fire phone is simple. Tap the phone icon and you’re greeted with a familiar keypad (7.1). Tap the keys to enter a phone number, and tap the blue Call button to initiate the call. If the number you’re calling isn’t in your contacts, a button will appear beneath the number (7.2). Tap it to create a new contact for that number.
