Chapter 12. Kindle

The Kindle app is where all your books live, and where you go to buy new ebooks from Amazon. This chapter covers how to read a book on your Fire, buying books, and how to add your own documents to your Fire for reading on the go.

Kindle Basics

Tap the Kindle icon, which is labeled Books in the home grid, to view your library of books (12.1). You actually have two Kindle libraries: Cloud and Device. The Cloud library includes books you’ve downloaded to your device (which have a checkmark on their cover) and those that are in Amazon’s cloud waiting for download.
