appendix C. Creating the Capsulecorp Pentest lab network

This appendix serves as a brief, high-level guide to setting up your testing environment, which closely mirrors the Capsulecorp Pentest environment that I built for the purposes of writing this book. It is not meant to be a lengthy step-by-step guide showing you how to create a replica of the environment, because it is not necessary for you to have a replica to practice the techniques used in this book.

The only details you need to concern yourself with are the vulnerabilities and attack vectors present on each system, rather than a play-by-play tutorial with screenshots for every dialog box. Going that route would be an entire book all by itself. Instead, I will provide a high-level ...
