Making a great landscape photograph seems simple. After all, a camera is just like your eye, right? Your eye has a lens that forms an image on your retina, which is how you see. A camera has a lens that forms an image on a digital sensor, and that becomes the photograph. What can be so hard? And yet I suspect that nearly all photographers have had this experience: You go hiking. You see something that moves you profoundly.
