FIGURE 9-1 Columbine, kings crown, and the Turret Needles from Ruby Basin at sunrise, Weminuche Wilderness, Colorado. Canon EOS 5D Mark III, Canon TS-E 24mm f/3.5L II tilt-shift lens. Shadow frame: 1/5th, f/16, ISO 400. Highlight frame: 1/20th, f/16, ISO 400. I used my high-contrast wildflower metering strategy to calculate the correct exposure for the good-shadow and good-highlight images, then combined the two images in Photoshop using a gradient on a layer mask.
