6 Planning Astrophotography Sessions

You’ve now seen many examples of landscape and deep-sky astrophotography, along with a few mentions of planning. So, what exactly is an astrophotography plan? A well-thought-out plan details when, where, and how to capture a specific astrophotography image. For example, a plan to capture the full moon perfectly positioned next to Half Dome in Yosemite National Park might look like this (Figure 6.1):
