It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
How to Use This Book
This book includes step-by-step instructions for achieving a wide range of textures with graphite, charcoal, colored pencil, oil, and acrylic.
1. Choose Your Medium
Find the section that focuses on your planned medium. Section I features pencil and charcoal; Section II features colored pencil; and Section III features oil and acrylic paint.
2. Review and Gather
At the beginning of each section, you’ll find information about materials needed for the featured medium, plus techniques and terminology.
3. Locate
Find your desired subject and texture in the Table of Contents (shown here). Textures are organized into six categories: People, Animals, Fabrics & Textiles, Hard Surfaces, Nature, and Food & Beverage.
