World Settings
World Settings create the background for your scene. This is the shading in general for the rendered background to the Scene and not to be confused with the 3D window background.
Blender opens with the default Blender Scene with the default Cube at the center. The Cube is the only object that renders. If you render an image or place the 3D window in Rendered Viewport Shading mode the default background is a flat gray color (the default gray RGB: 0.800).
