Enlarged negatives are used to make contact prints with silver gelatin paper or with an alternative process, such as platinum/palladium (plt/pld), gum printing, salted paper, cyanotype, etc. Making enlarged negatives is one of the most tedious and time-consuming procedures you can do in the darkroom.
