Dividing a Round Tower
Your next task is to add crenellations to the widest round tower in the center of the castle keep. To accomplish this, you’ll draw equal spacings on an ellipse in perspective (Figure 5-17):
1. Start a new layer in the Layers panel, and call it Circle. Draw a circle the same size horizontally as the tower top you want to subdivide, and place it directly above the tower. While holding down the Shift key to constrain the brush vertically and horizontally, draw a square around the circle.
2. Start another new layer, and call it Eighths. Draw an X, corner to corner, inside the square. Draw vertical and horizontal lines through the center of the X. The points where each of the lines meets the edge of the circle are equal subdivisions ...
