Blending Modes
Blending modes give you the ability to blend two layers together in ways unavailable to the traditional/analog artist, and they’re one of the unique strengths of working digitally. Therefore, before you begin texturing the castle, it’s worthwhile to take a closer look at blending modes. Some of the modes have been referenced in past chapters, most notably Screen and Multiply.
In the Layers panel, open the drop-down menu at the top, and take a moment to acquaint yourself with the different modes (Figure 7-1).
