Importing the Painting into After Effects

Take a closer look at the ViewOfHadesForAE.psd painting. It’s organized differently from the painting in Chapter 14, “Working over a Moving Plate,” in that many of the layers are divided into groups (Figure 15-17).

Groups from Photoshop are handled differently when they’re brought into After Effects. Each group is imported as a separate precomp. You’ll use these 2D precomps to do much of the animation that will appear in the 3D environment.
