It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
43. FOCUS STACKING IN PHOTOSHOP
ONCE YOU HAVE taken the set of images you will use for the focus stacking set, it’s just a matter of getting the software to put them together in the proper way. Back when Adobe released Photoshop CS4 it included a feature called focus blending, which allows you combine multiple images with different areas of focus.
The first step is to load the images into a stack by selecting [File > Scripts > Load Files into Stack]. When the dialog box opens, select the files you want to use and click on Add Open Files (Figure 43.1). This creates a file in which each image is a separate layer.
