I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Chapter 1 explores a transformative era in innovation, expanding beyond traditional firm-centered models to include contributions from individual users, communities, and households. Digital tools and platforms have democratized innovation, challenging existing models and necessitating new policy and evaluation approaches. The chapter introduces the book that is divided into two parts. Part 1 examines current innovation practices and policies, highlighting the evolution of innovation policy through three generations, from simple linear models to complex transformative policies.
