I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Importing Media
Ways to Import Media
There are two ways to bring media into Final Cut Pro X. The first is to import directly from a camera or the media card used inside the camera while filming. The other way is to import media from a hard drive which has already been converted to a format which Final Cut Pro X understands. A list of Final Cut Pro X supported cameras can be found at http://help.apple.com/finalcutpro/cameras/en/index.html?
If the camera you are working with is not in this list, don’t panic! Many of the professional cameras are not supported directly by Final Cut Pro X. However, the means to convert the footage is often supplied via a capture or transfer utility provided by the camera manufacturer.
