What you should know about the codecs of the X-T3 |
Codec is a portmanteau of coder and decoder. It describes an algorithm that encodes and decodes digital video, often compressing it to reduce file size. The X-T3 is the first X-series camera that allows you to choose between two different codecs:
- MPEG-4-AVC/H.264, named “H.264” in the camera menu
- MPEG-H HEVC/H.265, named “H.265(HEVC)” in the menu
