How do people consume in the aftermath of a cataclysmic event and what does this suggest for luxury consumption after Covid-19? In this chapter, I begin with a brief consideration of what happened during and after past cataclysms such as the 1918 Spanish Flu epidemic, the Great Depression, the two World Wars, and the Cold War. I then examine the pattern of luxury consumption during the Covid-19 pandemic as well as some new trends that have emerged due to the pandemic.
