Introduction

In the first two sections of this book, you were introduced to the internal and external world of the cyber security officer. The third and last section of this book discusses the major challenges for the cyber security officer, now and into the future. The most challenging threat to the cyber security officer—and a growing threat—is that of information warfare (IW), including terrorism. Although various types of IW have been around since someone first used the term information, because of high technology that threat is rapidly growing. Therefore, Section III begins with an introduction and overview of IW.
