In most disciplines, sometimes it is vital for the rest of the team to follow through on one person’s initiative—or, as I’ve referred to it previously, a navigational command. It might be a base hit with the score tied and two out in the late innings of the seventh game of the World Series. It could be a critical bid for a large contract that could save a company teetering on the brink of financial ruin. Success in such vital situations can depend greatly on transparency.
