Employee engagement, an employee’s willingness to go above and beyond the call of duty, is in an anemic state, measuring a measly 32.5 percent in the United States, according to Gallup.1 That means that, as a statistical probability, the majority of your employees don’t give hoot about your company or your customers. Yikes! It’s frightening. Yet companies are spending billions of dollars to increase engagement in their organizations, clearly to no avail. Continuing to do more of the same to improve engagement isn’t going to move the needle. What we need instead is an infusion of magnetic leaders who can inject higher levels of commitment into the workplace.
