Writing Workshop #2Exploring

Not all writing takes place with a pen and a piece of paper, or at a computer. Some of the writing process takes place in your head while you are sitting, walking, running, or driving. Allow time for your ideas to bubble to the surface.

Objectives

1.    To show how time helps mature an idea.

2.    To demonstrate the process of mentally exploring a topic.

Activities

STEP 1

Take the topic you developed in Chapter 1 and write it out in big letters on several index cards. Put one on your desk and another in your car, or wherever you plan to spend time in the next day or two.

STEP 2

Now, go about your daily business, occasionally glancing at the cards.
