I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

As I always tell young photographers, it’s a business where you have to have heroes. I’ve got lots of them. It’s a business comprised of special people, and I’ve been blessed to have encountered and been influenced by many of them.
First and foremost is my dad, who loaned me his range-finder camera, the family snap camera, a Beauty Lite III, when I started taking photo courses. He was a pretty good photographer and an artist who was never allowed to take those skills and hone them, given the strictures of working for somebody else for a living.
