Making a Magenta Sunset

Make magic light every night.

GEAR NEEDED:

  • Camera + Trigger
  • Lens of any focal length
  • Off-camera flash
  • Light stand
  • Light-softening modifier
  • 1 or more green gels
  • Second Off-camera flash (optional)

GOAL IMAGE

Everyone wants that magical sunset light and color. While I can’t promise you the perfect clouds to go along with it, I can tell you how to make the sky appear to be that beautiful magenta color without swapping in Photoshop (Figure 5.1).
