Group Shots with One Light
Set it and forget it for large groups of people.
GEAR NEEDED:
- Camera + Trigger
- Lens of any focal length
- Off-camera flash
- Light stand
- Umbrella modifier (optional but not needed if you have a large white wall)
GOAL IMAGE
Most of us didn’t get into photography because we like photographing large groups of rowdy people. But no matter what genre of photography you’ve gotten yourself into, you’ve likely spent a good amount of time taking pictures of those crazy groups anyway. The last thing you want to think about is your light when you’re managing a family list the size of Manhattan. Here’s how I do it (Figure 6.1).
