Turn Day into Night

Control the way the Earth turns—sort of.

GEAR NEEDED:

  • Camera + Trigger
  • Lens of any focal length
  • Off-camera flash
  • Full CTO gel
  • Light stand
  • Light-softening modifier (softbox, beauty dish, etc.)

GOAL IMAGE

This is a favorite trick of mine for any photo shoot, but especially when I am photographing a wedding and there won’t be time for a true “night” shot. Having the ability to create night is not only fun, but it wows your clients and gives them a unique image that they won’t be able to pass up (Figure 17.1).
