Blending Multiple Exposures (a.k.a. Pseudo-HDR Technique)

As an outdoor photographer, one of the biggest battles you face is balancing the details in the highlights and shadows. Usually, you have to make a choice and set the camera’s exposure to capture detail in the shadows (which produces bright, blown-out skies), or set the exposure for the brighter areas (which makes the darker areas almost black). With the Photomerge Exposure feature, we can do both. If you’ve heard of HDR (High Dynamic Range) photography and software, it’s similar—we take multiple photos with differing exposures and combine them together in Elements automatically (without a bunch of selections and layers).
