Project selection

Before starting a project it is necessary to determine if it should be done. There are many more projects that could be done than can be done in reality. Project selection is an important part of an organization’s governance. Having selected a project, checklists 4.5 and 4.6 will help in ensuring you are able to deliver them.

4.1 DEVELOPING A PROJECT BUSINESS CASE

Projects are approved via a business case. A business case answers the question – why should a project be invested in? It explains what the project is, why it should be done, what it will take to do, the benefits and costs of doing it, and any other information needed to decide whether to do the project or not.
