The first edition of this book was published more than 30 years ago, in 1986, and as the radio industry evolved so too did this book. Broadcast educator and radio scholar Michael C. Keith was the lead author of the first two editions and the sole author on the six subsequent editions. Broadcaster Joseph M. Krause was coauthor on the first two editions, with Michael C. Keith.
